Aztec Adventures Primary Leaders and Leads
These are the folks who lead and coordinate the trips for Aztec Adventures

Jim Lustig
Jim is the Aztec Adventures Program Coordinator. He is a professor in the Rec. Department at SDSU, as well as being a Wilderness Education Association Instructor. Jim is the backbone of the program and is a proficient kayaker, canoeist, backpacker, caver, fly fisherman, river rafter and is very experienced in expeditionary outings.

Trever Waage
Trever is the Outings Lead Supervisor. He is a senior in the Outdoor Recreation major and is also currently studying Sociology. Trever hopes to continue his career in the outdoor education field as an instructor for Outward Bound. His greatest passion is introducing beginners to the experience of the Wilderness.

Roberto Gutiérrez
Roberto is the Aztec Adventures Graduate Assistant. He is working on his Masters in Speech Pathology. Roberto specializes in kayaking and rock climbing as well as being a team building and ropes course facilitator.

Babs Grossman
Babs is the Climbing Program Lead. She is currently majoring in Women’s Studies and Interdisciplinary studies. She hopes to pursue a career in teaching and wilderness based therapy. She is a San Diego native and enjoys hiking, mountaineering and anything else in the sun.

Aubrey Gates
Aubrey is the Director of Marketing and Promotions for Aztec Adventures. She is majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness, nutrition, and health. Aubrey is an outdoor enthusiast with experience in rock climbing, outrigger canoeing, kayaking, snowboarding hiking, and has a passion for yoga.

Al Toth
Al was born in San Diego . He works with the Panda’s at the San Diego Zoo utilizing his background in Horticulture. In the evenings Al teaches yoga and works as a personal trainer.
