For twenty-five years, Aztec Adventures has been the outdoor adventure education and recreation program at San Diego State University. We are managed by the Associated Students, Campus Recreation division, and our offices are located within the Aztec Recreation Center.

We believe that traveling in the outdoors by simple means and challenging self-perceived physical and mental limits is a healthy alternative to our normally technologically dependent lifestyles. Additionally, we hope to advance environmental preservation by providing small group experiences where everyone is encouraged to make friends with the wilderness rather than attempting to overcome it.

Simply put, our mission is to eat good food (all successful expeditions throughout history depended on this), be kind (to the natural environment and to each other), tell the truth (be honest about our abilities and limitations) and make a difference (we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our participants and staff through rewarding outdoor travel).
