High & Low Ropes/Challenge Course in Julian & Kroc Center
High & Low Ropes programs consist of a morning of teambuilding activities utilizing both fixed and portable props. The high ropes courses are an intense challenge for individuals or twosomes to step outside their physical and mental comfort zones.
The high ropes course in Julian encompasses an acre of anchored telephone poles connected with aircraft cables, ropes, wooden platforms and beams suspended 25-65 feet off the ground. Through the use of state of the art climbing safety equipment and a committed support system of fellow group members, the ropes course provides a controlled situation where actual risk is practically nonexistent. The perception of risk, however, empowers individuals and groups to expand their comfort zones, build stronger relationships, and overcome natural fears.
- Leaping off a 30-foot pole to grab a trapeze,
- Balancing across a 25-foot log 35 feet off the ground,
- Working with a partner to climb a giant ladder with rungs upwards of six feet apart.
Each high ropes course “event” requires a rope safety system managed by a trained staff member that is there to “arrest the fall” of a climber that is wearing a safety harness and helmet.
Most everyone that challenges her/himself at a high ropes course enjoys a “Peak Experience” i.e. great personal empowerment and
satisfaction—both from a physical and emotional sense. Can you imagine your whole group experiencing and enjoying this challenge together?
